Thanks to Joan for this wonderful photo of Edgemere Avenue at Beach 34th Street taken in 1960 after a snow storm.  Joan wrote the following:

You can make out the sign of Kay's Hardware on the right, and the luncheonette on corner. Opposite that store was my mothers restaurant DotMar's which was named for my mom and sister who opened the store Dorothy and Mary, hence DotMar's.
