This letter was received from Andrew Eckstein, Leon's son.

Sadly, I write to report on the passing of my father, Leon Eckstein, on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014, after an unfortunate decline into Alzheimer's Disease.

Leon Eckstein taught Social Studies at FRHS beginning in 1960 until around 1975 when he transferred to the "new" Beach Channel HS where he taught until 1985.

I know Dad's passion for teaching and learning inspired many, and teaching for him, particularly during the FRHS years, was an incredibly enriching and rewarding career.
