Steve went from high
school into the Coast Guard and since he was a photographer in high school
for The Chat, he lucked out and became a photographer for the Coast Guard.
In 1960 he was assigned to do the photography at the U.S. Coast Guard
Reserve Officers Convention at The Americana (now The Hilton) in New York.
He was taking pictures of the champ with other people and asked someone to
take a photo of him with Clay.
