Hello Skip!

These days I’m a surfy professor of sociology in the SUNY system enjoying life in Long Beach NY. My new book, *Why The Ramones Matter* has been published by Texas University Press. Part eulogy, part encomium, the book examines the historical, social, cultural, personal and political impact of the mighty Ramones who honored our homeland with their legendary song, “Rockaway Beach....not far, not hard to reach.” Below, in June with CJ Ramone, their bass player and keeper of the faith.
